About Us
Creating Space for Healing, Growth, and Connection
Big Bear Community Therapeutic Arts Center was created from a simple but powerful belief: when children are given safe, supportive spaces to create, they gain tools that help them thrive emotionally, socially, and creatively.
Rooted in the natural beauty and close-knit spirit of the Big Bear community, our center offers intentional, art-based experiences designed to support children who may need extra emotional care, encouragement, or connection. Through creativity, children are invited to explore their feelings, build resilience, and discover their own inner strength—at their own pace.
Why Therapeutic Arts Matter
For many children, emotions can feel overwhelming or difficult to express with words alone. Art provides an accessible, non-judgmental outlet for communication, reflection, and healing.
These creative experiences support whole-child development and help lay the foundation for long-term emotional well-being.
At Big Bear Community Therapeutic Arts Center, creativity is not about perfection or performance—it’s about process. Through hands-on artistic exploration, children can:
Express emotions safely and authentically
Develop confidence and self-awareness
Strengthen emotional regulation and coping skill
Experience joy, curiosity, and connection
Our Commitment to Big Bear Valley
As a nonprofit organization, we are deeply committed to serving children and families within Big Bear Valley. We collaborate with caregivers, educators, and community partners to ensure our programs remain accessible, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of the children we serve.
Our goal is not only to support children today, but to nurture emotionally resilient individuals who carry creativity, confidence, and connection with them into the future.
